RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is a storage and data reading remote system that is based on the use of tags and labels formed by a small microchip and a radio frequency antenna.
The microchip can be recorded with information, usually a unique serial number that allows us to identify a particular article, distinguishing it from other identical products.
RFID tags can be attached or incorporated into any product, allowing us to identify it by an electronic reader capable of scanning the chip´s radiofrequency. The reader can find the unique identifier of the item in a database and provide us with additional information about the product.
Its use in retail has increased exponentially in recent years, offering multiple possibilities.
Agrowing number of brands are using this identification technology on their products, helping to streamline the order-reception process enormously. It is no longer necessary to open up the boxes to check and count the received items. All one needs to do is place the RFID reader close to the package or box in order to know its contents.
In case of not receiving the product codified with RFID, one can still program and print their own tags to use the advantages this technology offers in other areas of their business.
Indentification through radiofrequency significantly reduces the inventory time. The RFID tag reader does not need direct vision with each article to obtain their individual indentification numbers. It avoids duplication recordings in one´s inventory and reports an inventory accuracy of up to 99.9%.
This reduction of time spent in inventories means one will have more time to use in other areas of the business, knowing that this system consistently offers an up-to-date stock recording, while also avoiding misplaced or mislabeled items that often lead to losses of sales.
Offer your customers a new experience at the point of sale through interactive displays, which provide information of an article simply by aproaching it to the device, being able to search for different sizes or colors, or receive cross-selling recommendations.
Clients can even share what they are consulting on in the store on the social networks, helping them receive additional feedback about their potential purchases from friends.
Intelligent fitting rooms are also capable of identifying the items brought in by the client and offering information about the product, recommend other purchases opportunities based on their selection and even the possibility of requesting different sizes or colors to store workers without having to leave the fitting room.
Articles identified by RFID enable its monitoring within the point of sale, which, along with the necessary devices, enriches the customer experience.
Interactive screens: Allow one to check the availability of the article we want simply by placing it close to the device. We are also able to look for other available sizes and colors and match the article with other, complimentary ones through the recommendation system. Including the ability to share our selection across a variety of different social media platforms.
Intelligent fitting rooms: identifies the items that the cliente wishes to try on and offers additional information about the product, purchase recommendations and the possibility of asking for different sizes and colors without the need to ever leave the dressing room, as the store assistant will know exactly where to bring them.
This RFID system speeds up the payment process because it is no longer necessary to search for the bar code in order for the scanner to read the item. All that one needs to do is place the article on the surface of the reader to scan the item. All unnecessary unfolding and folding of the garmets is removed as the system can scan it easily. This helps to eliminate long lines during peak hours.
The RFID tags also serve as an anti-theft system as well, offering a new, higher level of security and control. This is acheived even without altering the visual design of the store, as the system can be intergrated throughout variousthings like the rugs and furniture already in place.
We can take advantage of these RFID tags by integrating our anti-theft system on them, offering higher control and security.
Enhance the customers experience without losing any sense of security, as the tags are now thinner, which allow the customer to try on clothes without the discomfort from big, bulky security tags.
Additonally, the aesthetics of the store can remain intact, as large detection machines are not needed since you can place the alarm scanners in simple items such as a carpet without ever being noticed.
Enjoy these advantages thanks to QuickSports Pro, the first POS software to integrate all these processses with RFID technology.
